carreer change

probably I'm looking for some excitement? a stimuli? looking for new stuff  to learn.
I'm actually thinking of changing  careers.  Go for the aesthetically inclined, deep, artistic, and inspirational? For now, I have no choice. have to stick with my bread and butter. It would get better soon. I hope i won't run out of time. I will have to make time.

agno, shawarma, at bulalo

Its been quite a while since ive written something that makes any sense.  Primarily, this has been my venue for ranting or needless to say, venting out.  As for the title, i have been reminiscing on the type of food that basically got me through college.  I lived half of my university days near the university.  And i have developed this acquired taste for such foods as shawarma and almost anything that has been grilled over charcoal.

First up is Agno, it is just an alley pretty much like smith street in singapore.  Its the alley where you will be intoxicated by the different smells of delicacies being fried, steamed, grilled or simply being prepared.  Who could forget good ol' Tolits, and his morchop (porkchop) and siomais.  Deep fried porkchop served with rice and accompanied by soy sauce.  This enterprising fellow also sells test booklets.  Next favorite shop in agno is the carbonara shop, they make a mean carbonara and bolognese served in either pene or spaghetti.  The next kiosk would be the outlet of The Beach, famous for their lambchops and steaks.  It is apparently, manned err...Gayed, by very gay persons. They have the cheapest alternative to having steak in fancy restos.  They serve hot off the grill (errr.. pan) lambchops and tenderloins, cooked by Tita herself. I never really knew what her real name was, but everyone called her Tita.  Another resto that has character i would say is Grahe, small eatery that serve grilled food in any time of day.  Their best seller is their grilled pork belly served with rice and goes good with ice cold pepsi twist.  These places are just a couple of what agno has to offer.

The next place i miss is the assortment of street food in Harisson Plaza, the perfect place whenever classes get suspended because of some typhoon or bad weather.  Me and my apartment buddies could go there on lazy rainy days, unBathed, eyes crusting from a whole morning of sleeping, clothes that look like dirty laundry, clothes that we even have slept in. And we would still look like normal patrons of the place. The best shawarma stop we have every experienced, not to mention cheap.  Mura na madumi pa. hehehe

The last but not the least place that i miss the most is bulalo king!  This small eatery along arellano near estrada is probably the place that we ate most frequently.  Footlongsilog with fried rice and bulalo is what i usually  have there.  It's fried footlong weener with cheese served with a sunny side up egg and fried rice.  It goes well with Mountain Dew.  The bulalo however, is their specialty and basically hangover food for us.  They serve a myriad of filipino breakfast all the silog you can think of.  Of course, everything is served with the bulalo soup.

I miss these places.  Too bad my apartment buddies are all living different lives.

Last i heard, cary became a model. Boyet, went to the states and is a nurse there. Paulo, is floating around makati which  i happen to see once in a while. And me, am thinking if i would still pursue programming or make my photography a full time thing.

err..good news or bad news

I have been recently removed from my post, and assigned a new one.  It's supposed to be a regional responsibility but honestly it does not feel like it.  First off, there are days that there is absolutely nothing to do.  Essentially, i had to come to the office sit in my place and act busy.  Nothing fancy.  The day simply ends with me scratching my head and yearning for some accomplishment.  It is as if I found comfort in deadlines, and when it was taken away from me, i never really felt any sense of accomplishment.  I am obsessed with photography but i want to polish my writing.  The only time i get to write is when i send out emails.  I am planning to have a day trip just by myself with my camera.  I plan on making a travel picture book.

rewarding day

Recently, ive been conducting small talks in the company.  Small but i hope would create an impact on the quality assurance department.  Ive noticed that they are blindly following several software development personalities.  With an idea that I recently acquired in japan from a  very familiar acquaintance, quality assurance must be on top of the software development.  Ideally, this would guarantee quality output, since everything that comes out gets tested (even internal software releases, even development releases).  My aim is to equipt the quality assurance with as much knowledge as possible.  The proper techniques and not to take anyone's word as the absolute spec.   I taught them how to look for answers not telling them the answers straight away..Today, i was asked about something technical by one of the q.a's.  As with everything, i started scuffling with my ebooks trying to find the answers, after a few minutes, the q.a. person got back at me and told me that the answer was in the spec all along.  That person really made my day, it prooves that i have taught them something.  That they learned something from me. And thats what's fulfilling.

is there hope

The annual restructuring in the office just been announced.  Some sadly had to endure the complexities or rather the enigmatic change in roles.  Definitely the previous year's structure prooved to be ineffective.  But how do we measure effectivity?  How are we supposed to address the problem, if we dont determine the problem itself?  The very structure they built is to accomodate the personal whims of the the mere problem herself.

stuff

I wonder how it feels like to be in a shortness of breath..A few moments before you finally kick the bucket. The last few gasps of air before eternal silence.  To be aware of the futile efforts to keep life.  The essence of life being drawn out.. Hanging on a thread.  They say your life would flash before your eyes, before you croak.  I am in search of that ecstatic feeling.
